Job Summary

As an Experienced Entry-Level Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and experience in our retail pharmacy environment. You will be responsible for performing a range of tasks, including:

• Providing patient counseling and education on medication use, side effects, and interactions
• Processing prescriptions and ensuring accurate dispensing of medications
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation of patient information
• Assisting with inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment

Key Responsibilities

* Provide patient counseling and education on medication use, side effects, and interactions

• Process prescriptions and ensure accurate dispensing of medications
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient information
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of medications and supplies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
• Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
• Develop and maintain knowledge of medications, including their uses, side effects, and interactions
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry standards

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or pharmacy technician program from an accredited institution

• Current pharmacy technician licensure in the states within the region
• Experience performing prescription filling and processing, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information

Preferred Qualifications

* At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail setting, including prescription filling and processing, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance

• Immunization certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
• Experience with pharmacy software and technology systems, including electronic health records and pharmacy management systems
