About the Role: Material Handler - Loader

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler - Loader to join our New Orleans Warehouse Team 4. As a Material Handler - Loader, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Fills orders from tickets according to set quotas, utilizing pallet jacks and/or riding jacks to manually pick and stage products.
  • Identifies products by description and quantity, removing them from storage areas and carrying them to staging areas.
  • Checks for accuracy in picking and maintains a high level of attention to detail.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.
  • Completes daily powered equipment inspection forms to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on pallets according to predetermined sequences, such as size, type, or product code.
  • Marks materials with identifying information and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Counts items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to Company standards.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, professional appearance within Company guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets.
  • Less than high school education; or up to 1 month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Forklift and electric riding pallet jack experience.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to effectively adapt to change and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work safely and securely, following all Company safety policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as required.
  • Physical stamina to repeatedly grasp, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs.
