Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Walgreens' prescription data entry methods and guidelines to process new patient enrollments, handle patient medication requests, and enter refill orders for processing, all while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve data entry-related exceptions, missing prescription information, and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
  • Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients, prescribers, and other stakeholders, resolving concerns and addressing queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Resolve third-party rejects by investigating, gathering information, making corrections, and resubmitting claims according to individual plan requirements.
  • Provide support to pharmacists and other team members, identifying and escalating issues to senior-level staff as necessary.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity, efficiency, and quality in a fast-paced call center environment.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to launch and close programs, use a mouse, and access online information.
  • Intermediate-level keyboarding skills (at least 25 WPM) with the ability to type by memory and format documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • The ability to obtain a dynamic technician permit or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active permit or certification throughout your tenure.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • At least 2 years of pharmacy experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • A minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician with a certification/registration by the state as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or a widely recognized certification agency.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, with a focus on meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level keyboarding skills (at least 35 WPM) with the ability to type by memory and format documents.
  • Proficiency in both Spanish and English.
