About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Entry-Level Data Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Data Engineer at Netflix, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that support our business operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes that provide insights into our business performance. Your expertise will help us make data-driven decisions that drive business growth, improve user experience, and enhance our competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems that support business operations
  • Develop data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes that provide insights into business performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improve user experience
  • Work closely with data scientists and analysts to develop data products that support business decision-making
  • Develop and maintain data quality and governance processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to improve our data systems

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Scala, Python, or C++
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Strong understanding of data security and compliance
