About the Role

As a Software Engineer on our Systems Efficiency & Performance team, you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the systems that enable our content discovery experiences. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including ML scientists, distributed systems engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless content delivery and personalized recommendations. Your expertise will help us optimize our systems for maximum efficiency, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable and efficient systems to support Netflix's content discovery experiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop tools and metrics to improve system efficiency and enable scalability
  • Work with cloud computing providers like AWS, Azure, or GCP to optimize system performance
  • Analyze and optimize system performance, identifying areas for improvement
  • Foster strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to drive business success
  • Communicate technical plans and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong experience with distributed systems, cloud computing, and Java
  • Proficiency in personalization, A/B testing, machine learning, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and action-oriented approach
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues
  • Alignment with Netflix's core values, including a passion for innovation and customer satisfaction

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-native technologies, such as containerization and orchestration
