Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Faculty - Business, Part-time, Online. The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with students in online classrooms, analyzing student activity, and providing appropriate responses. This is a fantastic chance to work with adult learners, contribute to their educational journey, and gain valuable experience in online education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze Student Activity: Monitor and analyze student activity within discussions and assessments, and choose the appropriate responses based on training and input from the master instructor.
- Manage Communications: Assist in managing generic student communications and escalate unique issues to the master instructor.
- Grading and Feedback: Assist with grading and provide constructive feedback to students.
- Engagement and Participation: Monitor engagement levels and provide recommendations on the best approach to increase engagement.
- Availability: Must be available to work on Sundays, with flexibility on other days and times.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
- A Master's degree in Business or a Business-related discipline from an accredited institution.
- 27 graduate quarter credits (18 graduate semester credits) in business-related coursework.
Work Experience:
- Previous teaching experience with adult learners.
- At least 5 years of professional Business experience or at least 3 years of management experience in Business (preferred).
- International Business experience is desired (optional).
Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Skills: Experience with Canvas is a plus, along with strong computer skills.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Judgment and Decision Making: Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions.
- Leadership: Ability to lead small group discussions.
- Record Keeping: Ability to keep accurate records.
