Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) Lab/Teaching Assistants to join our team. As a Lab/Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting student success in our dynamic learning environment. You will assist in maintaining the labs, preparing media and reagents, and helping instructors with student training. Key Responsibilities

As an MLS Lab/Teaching Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting instructors with student training and lab activities
  • Maintaining the labs, including preparing media and reagents
  • Helping students with lab skills and techniques
  • Assisting with the maintenance of lab equipment and analyzers
  • Providing support to instructors with course preparation and delivery

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in the Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS) program at Weber State University
  • Acceptance into the MLS program
  • Ability to work 5-20 hours per week, with a maximum of 20 hours per week
  • Completion of 1-2 semesters of MLS Laboratory sections
  • Experience working with various types of lab equipment and analyzers

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
  • Background in medical laboratory sciences or a related field
  • Experience working in a lab setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
