About the Role: Substitute Teacher in Califon, NJ

We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Califon, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Our competitive pay rates, up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, reflect our commitment to valuing your time and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, as needed
• Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
• Communicate effectively with school staff, teachers, and administrators
• Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills

Essential Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
• NJ Substitute Credential
• Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
• Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost)
• Full COVID-19 vaccination

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
• Special education or subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, Special Ed)
• Experience working with diverse student populations
