FULLSTACK GAME DEVELOPER

KIXEYE is looking for skilled, resourceful and enthusiastic software engineers to join our teams working on our genre defining MMORTS games. Released over a decade ago, War Commander and Battle Pirates continue to be leaders in the MMORTS space, bringing complex strategy gameplay to thousands of dedicated players.

As a full stack developer on our live games, you’ll be working on performance-critical systems that power real-time multiplayer interactions, game state persistence, combat resolution, and live events. You'll have a major impact on scaling, reliability, and feature velocity. Full-stack development experience is a requirement—but we’re especially looking for developers with a passion for backend architecture, data-driven gameplay systems, and server-side optimization. Our technology stacks include PHP, C++, Scala, and Haxe, and use a variety of database technologies such as SQL, Mongo and Redis. As a live ops game with a large audience, comprehensive devops skills are an asset as well. We're looking for excellence in software engineering, superior communication skills, and a great attitude for working in a team of highly talented people. A genuine love for gaming is a huge asset, as is understanding player needs and strategy game mechanics.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members to produce and manage high-quality code.
• Architect and implement game systems across separate application domains.
• Work with Art and Design teams to find technical solutions that advance gameplay.
• Work with awesome people just as passionate as you on projects they love.

Requirements:

• Experience or knowledge in two or more tools such as C++, Scala, PHP, AS3, Node.js, Python, JavaScript, Haxe, and OpenFL.
• Experience or knowledge in one or more DB technologies such as MySQL, Redis and Mongo.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of commercial development experience with at least one shipped game.
• Experience with common data structures and algorithmic solutions.
• Able to meet deliverables and drive your work to completion within specified timelines.
• Familiarity with SVN, Git, Perforce or other VCS.
• Familiarity with command line tools such as bash and batch.
• Great English communication skills both written and verbal.
• Knowledge and passion for interactive entertainment and games.
