As a Chemistry Tutor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students through organic and biochemistry courses, working closely with our faculty to ensure students' success. Key Responsibilities

• Engage students and provide systematic and consistent learning support services in a positive and efficient manner.
• Assist students with lecture or lab material in chemistry courses, study methods, and technology needed to complete course-related material.
• Greet students and visitors, and provide general information about the college and its services.
• Tutoring will take place primarily in-person at either the main campus or Akron location, with some online tutoring available based on hourly needs.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
• Develop and implement effective tutoring strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related field with courses in general chemistry and organic chemistry.
• Microsoft Office Application skills and excellent communication skills.
• Comfort with technology usage and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Ability to relate to a diverse student population with ingenuity, creativity, and compassion.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in tutoring or teaching chemistry or related subjects.
• Familiarity with online learning platforms and tools.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
