About the Role

The Associate Director position is a full-time, remote opportunity that requires a strong understanding of TV production, excellent communication skills, and the ability to think on your feet. As an Associate Director, you will work closely with the Chief to ensure the smooth execution of live productions, assist with pre-production elements, and contribute to the development of visual content for the show.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Chief during productions by timing components, keying graphics, and organizing feeds.
• Maintain communication with live shots, providing cues and prompts, and ensuring proper framing, sound, and video levels meet live guidelines.
• Help with routing, papping, framing, and clearing remote guests; selecting music for studio productions and MOS'ing into the rundown.
• Aid in the communication of traffic changes, graphics requests, music cues, and source changes with media.
• Assist the Chief with pre-production elements, including announcements, promotions, prods, graphics, enhancements, and virtual graphics.
• Work with the Chief and Production staff to request pictures and screen graphics to support storylines throughout the show.
• Confirm locations of guests (remote and studio) with Sound and Transmission/VCC by providing administrative work.
• Participate in meetings with Production to aid in the development of visual content for the show.
• Assist the Chief, Producer, and Planning Producer with PCR setup, including comms and monitoring format.
• On REMI productions, help the Producer and Chief in managing game-related responsibilities and traffic.
• Develop cards with special, sales, and article copy for talent to read on-air.
• Run the pre-production meeting.
• Assist with training newer Associate Directors and provide feedback to help their development.
• Take ownership of self-improvement through independent observation and training.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• A thorough understanding of TV production.
• Clear, concise, and comprehensive verbal communication skills.
• The ability to think rapidly in a high-pressure situation.
• A diligent, conscientious, and enthusiastic approach to production, with a keen interest in technical areas and a willingness to present innovative suggestions.
• Strong leadership characteristics in all interactions and decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least three years of production experience or equivalent.
• Switching experience is highly desirable.
• Bilingual language abilities (Spanish/English) are an asset.
