Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Custodian to join our team at Glenwood High School, working the 3rd shift from 10 PM to 6 AM. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for our students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all areas of the school, including classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas, to ensure a safe and healthy environment
• Perform routine custodial tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and emptying trash and recyclables
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment, such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning machines
• Restock supplies, such as paper products, soap, and cleaning materials, as needed
• Respond to emergency situations, such as spills or accidents, and take prompt action to prevent injuries or damage
• Collaborate with other custodial staff to ensure seamless coverage and completion of tasks
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and other staff members
• Provide exceptional customer service and respond to requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have prior experience in custodial or maintenance work, preferably in a school or educational setting
• Be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

• Experience working with cleaning equipment and machinery
• Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols
• Basic first aid and CPR training
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
