About the Role: Details Expert I

We're seeking a skilled Data Entry Specialist to join our Details and Examination team within blithequark's Details and Data Gathering division. As a Details Expert I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and intelligence of sports data across various blithequark platforms, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, blithequark.com, Dream, and Game Cast.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and intelligence of sports data disseminated by Details and Data across blithequark platforms.
• Work individually and collaboratively to deliver precise detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a multitude of blithequark products and productions.
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Details and Data's role in fueling blithequark digital products and television productions.
• Verify the results of your own work and that of others, performing with consistently high meticulousness.
• Contribute to productions, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders in coordinating full- and part-time staff.
• Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose likely solutions, communicating rapidly and unequivocally with colleagues.
• Play a proactive role in collaborating with colleagues to develop or refine production processes.
• Participate actively in team and office meetings, seeking and responding to feedback on personal performance.
• Stay informed about current office policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games.
• Full schedule availability, including evenings (only), weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to rapidly learn production processes that produce and/or maintain sports data that drives blithequark's digital and television products.
• Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production circumstances.
• Ability to communicate confidently - verbally and in writing - to production managers and peers about production issues and opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
• Knowledge of how sports data is utilized in media and for research purposes.
• Working knowledge of blithequark products and productions.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Experience leading or training a team.
• Ability to speak and write Spanish.
• Experience using social media in a business or news environment.

Education:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Vocational training or equivalent.
