Key Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Specialist – Prior Authorization, you will be responsible for:

  • Entering data from scanned and/or processed images into our data capture system
  • Meeting expected hourly production volume goals
  • Maintaining quality levels above minimums set by management
  • Increasing speed and difficulty of tasks as expected with training and practice
  • Maintaining awareness of and actively participating in the Corporate Compliance Program
  • Maintaining a neat and orderly workstation
  • Assisting with other projects as assigned by management
  • Being prompt and dependable (excellent attendance)
  • Being comfortable working in a production environment
  • Possessing excellent organization skills
  • Reliability of task completion and follow-up

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Health claims processing experience, including use of claims processing software and related tools
  • Highly-motivated and success-driven
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and active-listening skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Intermediate typing skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/ICS-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, and HIPAA regulations (preferred)
  • Knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and best practices (preferred)
