The Manager, Project Management reporting to the Director, Project Management is responsible for leading a group of Project Management professionals and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across client engagements. This role combines people leadership with hands-on project delivery support. You will standardize delivery playbooks, drive consistent cadence across programs, monitor portfolio health, and step into critical engagements to stabilize execution when needed. As a people leader, you will mentor project managers, set clear expectations, review deliverables, and ensure that teams deliver against scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. As a delivery leader, you will uphold best practices, manage escalations, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable execution and client satisfaction.

Requirements

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Team Oversight & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop Project Management individual contributors. This includes setting goals, providing ongoing coaching, conducting performance reviews, and reviewing project artifacts and deliverables for quality and consistency. Foster an inclusive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.
  • Portfolio Delivery & Governance: Oversee a portfolio of moderate complexity, ensuring reliable delivery and predictable outcomes. Guarantee that project plans, RAID logs, dependencies, financial data, and capacity plans are accurate and updated. Track portfolio-level performance, risks, and health metrics, and drive corrective actions.
  • Hands-On Project Support: Step into critical or at-risk projects to unblock issues, stabilize cadence, and reinforce delivery discipline. Provide guidance on resolving escalations and managing tradeoffs. Serve as a trusted escalation point for project teams, stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Resource Coordination: Partner with Resource Management to assign project managers, resolve allocation conflicts, and forecast resource needs. Support workforce planning to ensure balanced capacity and coverage across engagements.
  • Process Discipline & Standards: Enforce delivery playbooks, PM methodologies, and governance standards across all projects. Ensure consistent application of reporting standards, change control procedures, and dependency tracking. Contribute to the evolution of PMO processes, tools, and frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong communication with clients and cross-functional partners. Manage expectations through transparent updates on delivery status, risks, and financial health. Drive alignment across client strategy, engineering, operations, and finance teams.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Track team/project-level KPIs, project performance metrics, and portfolio outcomes. Publish insights, trends, and recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure proactive identification and communication of risks, blockers, and capacity constraints.

Your Experience

  • 5–8 years of total experience in Project or Program Management within a consulting, digital, technology, or services environment.
  • At least 2+ years of experience leading or managing others, either formally or through matrix leadership.
  • Strong grounding in delivery methodologies (agile, hybrid, waterfall), PM tools, portfolio/resource planning tools, KPI design, and financial tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or portfolios and maintain consistent delivery standards.
  • Experience coaching project managers and enabling scalable delivery processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage escalations and facilitate alignment with sponsors and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across product, engineering, operations, and finance teams.
  • Ability to balance people leadership and hands-on project involvement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management, or a related field preferred; PMP, CSM, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
