Incontestable Claims Examiner I (Remote)

As an Incontestable Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing all aspects of an incontestable claim and determining how to process it. This role involves high exposure to a multitude of life claims, requiring the ability to identify claim benefits in regard to specific policies and operate on multiple claims systems. You will be tasked with reviewing policies outside of the two-year review window and processing them in accordance with policy provisions and company procedures. Additionally, you will contact outside third parties to obtain additional claim information, update system notes with claim progress, and provide updates to beneficiaries regarding their claims. The position demands maintaining production data and meeting the production quota set by the department, along with other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This role is crucial in ensuring that claims are processed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the overall success of the claims department.
Responsibilities
- Reviews all policies outside of the two-year review window (incontestable) and processes in accordance with policy provisions and Company procedures. ,
- Processes claims on a multiple claims system. ,
- Contacts outside 3rd parties and obtains additional claim information needed, including agents, beneficiaries, funeral homes, and coroners. ,
- Updates system notes with claim progress. ,
- Provides updates to beneficiaries regarding claim progress. ,
- Responsible for claim movement and progression. ,
- Maintains production data and must meet the production quota set by the department. ,
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma. ,
- Work experience in a production environment. ,
- Previous data entry experience is a plus. ,
- Previous insurance industry and claims handling experience is a plus. ,
- Must have a high level of quality focus on providing excellent customer service. ,
- Ability to process a high volume of claims efficiently and accurately. ,
- Critical problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills. ,
- Excellent verbal, communication, and written skills. ,
- Strong organizational and research skills. ,
- Must be detail oriented, have the ability to work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks with deadlines. ,
