We’re looking for a forward-thinking technologist and seasoned people leader to oversee the full lifecycle of data assets across our platform - from ingestion and transformation through warehousing, governance, and delivery. You will expand and enrich our data ecosystem while leading teams in delivering solutions that support analytics, operational systems, and product initiatives.

About the Job: We are seeking a Manager, Data Platform Engineering to lead our Data Engineering and Data Management teams. This role ensures our enterprise data is secure, trusted, and delivered efficiently to downstream consumers, supporting critical analytics and business intelligence. You will translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions, elevate engineering processes, and champion data governance and quality across the team. This is a full-time, salaried, remote position (U.S.-based) with a compensation range of $120,000–$135,000 per year, based on experience. What You’ll Do (Essential Responsibilities): 1. Technical Leadership & Platform Ownership

  • Strategy & Roadmap: Own the roadmap for data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and infrastructure improvements - ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy.
  • Architecture & Operations: Oversee the architecture, development, and operations of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), ETL pipelines, and data integration workflows.
  • Modernization: Drive modernization initiatives, including automation, cloud-readiness (Azure preferred), and support for future AI capabilities.
  • Escalation: Act as the escalation point for data pipeline incidents, data quality issues, and partner integration failures.

2. Team Management & Culture

  • People Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor the Data Engineering and Data Management teams, providing guidance on technical direction and professional development.
  • Engineering Rigor: Oversee technical standards, coding practices, and drive continuous improvement and accountability within the organization.
  • Prioritization: Manage capacity planning, prioritization, and execution of the team’s backlog to ensure predictable delivery and high operational reliability.

3. Data Governance & Partnership

  • Governance: Ensure strong alignment across data governance, data quality, master data management (MDM), and metadata management functions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Analytics, Software Engineering, and Infrastructure teams to support all application and reporting data needs.
  • Client Interface: Serve as the technical point of contact for clients and third-party data providers to define integration requirements, file formats, and data quality expectations.

What You’ll Bring to Our Team (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Experience (Required):
  • 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or data platform development.
  • 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience in data-focused technical teams.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server, ETL processes, and enterprise data integration tooling.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of database design, data modeling, and ETL patterns.
  • Experience managing or supporting enterprise data warehouses in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud data architectures (Azure preferred).
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience collaborating directly with clients/partners on data integration requirements.
  • Compliance & Governance: Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data security compliance in a highly regulated environment (e.g., HIPAA).
