What You’ll Do: As a Senior HR Consultant, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and partner to executives, managers, and HR teams, balancing strategic guidance with hands-on support:

  • Lead client engagements across a portfolio of industries, building strong, trusted relationships with leadership teams.
  • Advise on employee relations, compliance, and complex HR matters, including investigations, performance management, and organizational change
  • Design and implement HR strategies around talent management, engagement, retention, and culture.
  • Develop and refine policies, handbooks, and compliance practices across multiple states.
  • Provide oversight of benefits, leave management, and compensation practices; guide clients through complex FMLA/ADA and multi-state compliance scenarios.
  • Partner with clients on workforce planning, organizational structure, and change management initiatives.
  • Lead or contribute to client projects such as system implementations, handbook overhauls, total rewards reviews, or engagement initiatives.
  • Mentor and guide HR Consultants and junior team members within the consultancy.
  • Proactively identify client pain points and propose creative, compliant, and scalable solutions.
  • Contribute to internal process or knowledge development for the HR Services team.

What You Bring:

  • 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a client-facing HRBP or consultant role.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
  • Experience supporting small to mid-sized, high-growth, or PE-backed companies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in employment law and compliance (EEO, FLSA, FMLA/ADA, wage & hour, multi-state).
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills; comfortable juggling competing client needs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; able to influence executives and guide managers with clarity and empathy.
  • Tech-savvy and adaptable; experience with Paylocity, BambooHR, EmployeeNavigator, or similar systems preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a consulting or fractional model strongly preferred.
