Corporate Counsel/Privacy (Remote Eligible)

Smartsheet is looking for an accomplished Corporate Counsel to join our collaborative legal team. We are looking for a highly capable and motivated individual with strong interpersonal skills to assist us in supporting commercial transactions, with a focus on the procurement and third party engagement function, and other parts of the business. This position reports to the Senior Corporate Counsel, Privacy in our office in Bellevue, WA. You Will:

• Review and negotiate order forms, statements of work, master agreements, and other commercial agreements relating to SaaS, IP licensing, professional services, sponsorships, marketing, events, and more.
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice to departments across the company, including to our affiliates and subsidiaries throughout the world.
• Collaborate with all members of the legal team across office locations, including attorney and non-attorney personnel.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of document templates, alternate language playbooks, and internal resource documents.
• Provide training and guidance to employees on legal issues, best practices, and company policies.
• Support general business operations and assist with special projects.

You Have:

• 4 years of relevant legal experience (ideally in-house at a cloud software company) though individuals with less experience may be considered for an Associate Corporate Counsel role.
• Comfort and general understanding of technology, software, and data
• Experience negotiating a variety of different types of contracts and working with different departments.
• Ability to balance legal risk and business need while upholding the company's business standards and risk tolerance.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, and strategic thinking.
• Able to operate in a fast-paced environment that places a high premium on excellence, execution, and teamwork.
• JD from an accredited law school and an active bar member (preferably barred in WA and/or MA bar).
