Project-Based Freelance PR Consultant for HealthTech Startup (Ready4OR.com)

Worldwide Salaried Open

Position Overview Ready4OR.com is an innovative healthtech startup revolutionizing operating room (OR) and procedural coordination. Our digital work system enhances EHR data with real-time visualization, seamless team communication, and intuitive insights to boost surgical efficiency, reduce staff burnout, improve patient safety, and enable hospitals to perform up to 50% more cases without additional resources. We're seeking an experienced freelance PR consultant for a project-based engagement (3-6 months initially, with potential extension) to build awareness and credibility among US healthcare C-suite leaders (CEOs, CTOs/CIOs, CFOs) in hospital systems and perioperative services. This is a remote, flexible project role ideal for a PR specialist passionate about medtech/ healthtech startups. We're a lean team with strong traction in OR efficiency metrics and are open to creative compensation structures (e.g., fixed project fee, milestone-based payments, performance bonuses for placements/leads, or hybrid with vested equity for the right fit).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted PR strategy to secure earned media placements in top healthcare publications read by hospital executives (e.g., Becker's Hospital Review, Modern Healthcare, Fierce Healthcare, HealthIT Analytics, MedTech Dive).
  • Craft compelling pitches, press releases, bylined articles, and thought leadership pieces highlighting Ready4OR's impact on OR optimization, ROI for CFOs, digital transformation for CTOs, and operational efficiency for CEOs/perioperative leaders.
  • Position our founder and experts as industry thought leaders through contributed content, quotes, and interviews.
  • Amplify coverage via social media (primarily LinkedIn) and monitor/share results for broader exposure.
  • Track and report on outcomes: Aim for 15-25+ total exposures (articles, mentions, shares) across print/online media and social amplification.
  • Collaborate with our team to refine messaging based on our case studies, metrics (e.g., increased case volume, reduced cognitive load), and EHR integration strengths.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of PR experience, with a proven track record in healthtech, medtech, healthcare IT, or hospital/perioperative solutions.
  • Demonstrated success securing placements in C-suite-focused healthcare outlets (please share portfolio/examples of past coverage).
  • Strong media relationships in the US healthcare space.
  • Excellent writing skills for pitches, releases, and executive bylines (compliant with healthcare regulations).
  • Experience working with early-stage startups; understanding of B2B SaaS selling to hospitals/health systems.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable with remote collaboration (tools like Slack, Google Workspace).

Preferred

  • Existing connections/contributions to Becker's, Fierce, or similar.
  • Familiarity with topics like OR efficiency, surgical workflows, EHR integrations, or digital health transformation.
  • Bonus: Experience with LinkedIn thought leadership campaigns for healthtech executives.

Project Scope & Compensation

  • Estimated 10-20 hours/week, flexible based on milestones.
  • Project-based pricing preferred (proposals welcome; typical range for similar scopes, depending on deliverables).
  • Open to performance incentives (e.g., bonuses for key placements or demo leads generated) and equity discussions for exceptional candidates aligned with our growth.

How to Apply

Submit your proposal via Indeed email [email protected] with:

  • Resume/portfolio highlighting relevant healthtech PR wins.
  • 2-3 examples of successful healthcare media placements.
  • Proposed approach/strategy for Ready4OR (brief outline).
  • Rate structure or project fee proposal.
