The Auditor is responsible for evaluating agency internal controls, operational procedures, and compliance with industry regulations, ensuring alignment with legal standards and internal risk management frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct agency audits of title and escrow operations, including file reviews, disbursement procedures, and underwriting practices
  • Evaluate compliance with ALTA Best Practices, state regulations, and company policies
  • Identify process inefficiencies, control weaknesses, and areas of potential risk
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with actionable recommendations for process improvement, and Issue audit reports to Management with the proper distribution lists
  • Complete all required statutory audits, prepare related reports, and submit those reports to the regulatory departments
  • Work with the team to develop the audit schedule
  • Stay current on changes in title insurance laws, escrow regulations, and industry standards
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and operations teams to ensure regulatory readiness
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and follow up on outstanding issues when tasked
  • Assist in the development of Agency Operations department needs such as audit programs and compliance monitoring

Skills

  • Must be able to complete day travel within the state 30%-40% of the time

  • Comply with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and completes mandatory company compliance training by assigned deadlines
  • Be dependable, reliable and punctual attendance is required, which may include in-office attendance or attendance at company, industry or other events that occur outside regular business hours
  • Have the ability to accept supervision and direction, as well as constructive feedback
