Fiscal Analyst Position
Waco Tribune-Herald is seeking a Fiscal Analyst to join the Minnesota House of Representatives' Fiscal Analysis Department. The role involves providing quantitative and policy analysis services, working with finance and tax committees on state budgetary and fiscal issues, and supporting various responsibilities related to budget development and oversight.
Responsibilities
- Budget development and oversight
- Expenditure and revenue projections for budget proposals
- Fiscal tracking
- Staff support for finance committees
- Presenting in committee and other settings
- Development of fiscal and policy publications
Skills
- Master's degree in public policy, or a related advanced degree preferred or a BS with directly relevant experience
- Experience with spreadsheets
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to convey complex information to people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience with quantitative research and analysis
- Fiscal management practices
- Policy development
- Program evaluation
- Familiar with the legislative budget process
- Knowledge of state government finance and policy issues
