Internal Control Analyst

Job Description: Internal Control Analyst: Works in partnership with the designated Line of Business, along with professionals in Risk, Compliance, and Audit, and RCA Managers to design, implement, maintain, evaluate, or oversee an effective risk management framework. Participates in initiatives that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identifies control gaps and recommends solutions to mitigate losses caused by ineffective internal processes, systems, or human error. Identifies, responds to, and escalates risks as appropriate, serving as a liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense. Benefits:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support audit leadership in planning audit engagements, including understanding risks, control strategies, business operations, key risk areas, and critical control frameworks.
  • Guide staff auditors in performing control testing in accordance with audit program requirements, including the use of appropriate sampling and testing methodologies.
  • Evaluate significant issues and document completed work to support audit conclusions and compliance with internal audit standards.
  • Partner with audit management to define audit issues, including risk identification, impact assessment, root cause analysis, and development of cost-effective recommendations.
  • Assist in the preparation of clear and comprehensive audit reports at the completion of audit engagements.
  • Apply coaching feedback to strengthen professional skills and performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • More than five years of relevant professional experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of financial services, including financial reporting, accounting standards, taxation, SOX requirements, regulatory compliance, and risk assessment.
  • In-depth understanding of the Global Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
  • CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification, or an advanced degree.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet varying deadlines simultaneously.

Work Schedule: This position follows a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence for a minimum of three days per week, with remote work available on remaining days. Compensation: The stated salary range is based on the primary job location and may vary depending on the role’s location.
