This resort exclusive Championship level, Par 72, 18-hole golf course will be one of the best resort golf courses in Southwest Florida and we are looking for a Golf Course Mechanic to join our team! The Mechanic, under direct supervision of the Equipment Manager, will maintain and prepare our maintenance equipment to the highest possible standard. Duties can include, but not be limited to small engine overhaul, maintenance on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and welding. This position also assists in maintenance of the facility and shop work areas, including shop tools, demo inventory, and other equipment. The Mechanic position will also, operate the equipment and assist the Superintendent on course. All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices and procedures. Job Duties
  • Maintain and prepare our maintenance equipment to the highest possible standard.
  • Knowledge of small engine overhaul, maintenance on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and welding.
Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with Equipment Manager. Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis. Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting units on various heavy and light mowing equipment. Keeps maintenance equipment oiled and inspected and performs related tasks as required. Adhere to the proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids (antifreeze, oil filters, etc. Assist in maintenance of the facility and shop work areas, including shop tools, demo inventory, and other equipment. * Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Ability to move heavy objects.
  • Mechanical ability; ability to use common mechanical tools.
  • Maintenance of a clean work environment.
  • Perform other functions as needed
Minimum Requirements Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates.   • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) - two (2) years experience as a mechanic in a golf course setting.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Other Minimum Requirements
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions including but not limited to wind, noise, dirt, mud, oil, fuel, dust, heat, cold
  • This position requires standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting heavy objects for extended periods of time
