Join Trissential and Help Shape the Future of Enterprise AI Governance

Trissential is seeking a highly skilled AI Governance & Controls Consultant to join our client’s team and lead the execution of enterprise-wide AI governance initiatives. If you thrive in fast-moving environments, enjoy building structure out of ambiguity, and are motivated by high-impact, highly visible work—this is the role where you can truly leave your mark.

This is your chance to be the missing link in an organization actively working to operationalize AI governance—from strategy to execution to long-term sustainability.

What’s in It for You?

  • A role with massive impact—your work directly influences the enterprise AI risk posture, audit readiness, and executive-level strategy
  • High autonomy and ownership—you operate as the central integrator and governance driver
  • A chance to build something meaningful—AI governance is new, evolving, and ripe for leadership
  • Collaboration with cross-functional experts in security, risk, AI enablement, legal, privacy, and audit
  • Opportunity for conversion to full-time—this role is expected to extend and evolve into long-term governance leadership

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will serve as the execution engine behind the AI governance program—turning strategy and audit requirements into real, operational processes. Your work will include:

  • Leading implementation of enterprise AI governance frameworks, guardrails, and controls
  • Translating audit findings into actionable remediation plans and process improvements
  • Establishing risk models, oversight mechanisms, and compliance standards for AI/ML systems
  • Defining standards for AI, ML, and emerging agent technologies across the enterprise
  • Driving alignment among security, risk, legal, privacy, audit, and AI/data teams
  • Facilitating governance councils and cross-functional collaboration
  • Tracking, managing, and closing audit findings related to AI governance
  • Integrating AI governance requirements into broader risk and security frameworks
  • Owning end-to-end delivery of governance initiatives—from intake through execution
  • Providing regular visibility to leadership on progress, risks, and compliance gaps
  • Ensuring governance processes scale and mature as AI capabilities evolve

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

You don’t need to check every box to apply—strong candidates come from diverse backgrounds. Experience in the following areas will set you up for success:

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, risk management, data governance, AI/ML, or related fields
  • Understanding of AI/ML concepts, data ecosystems, and enterprise data workflows
  • Familiarity with risk, compliance, and governance frameworks
  • Experience working within large, matrixed organizations
  • Ability to lead without authority and drive cross-functional alignment
  • Strong communication skills—translating technical and risk concepts into business language
  • A self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and builds structure where none exists
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to ask the right risk-focused questions
  • Experience managing complex initiatives in Agile environments

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience with AI governance, data governance, or model risk management
  • Background in audit, compliance, or regulatory environments
  • Exposure to AI-enabled tools, agent-based systems, or data science workflows
  • Familiarity with Agile tools like Jira
  • Certifications in AI, data, security, or governance

Education & Certifications You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information systems, data science, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Relevant certifications are helpful but not required
