We’re focused on creating a foundation that empowers cutting-edge advancements in intelligent computing, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the AI landscape.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and innovative Data Center Design Engineer to lead the technical design and planning of high-performance, mission-critical data center infrastructure. This role involves developing end-to-end design solutions that meet strict requirements for reliability, scalability, energy efficiency, and operational excellence.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural elements of data center design from concept through construction. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and construction teams to ensure designs align with business needs and global standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop data center layout and infrastructure designs, including electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.

  • Produce and review design documents such as floor plans, equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, and specifications.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external design consultants to manage multidisciplinary design coordination.

  • Ensure compliance with local codes, industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, Uptime, TIA-942), and company design guidelines.

  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and capacity planning analysis.

  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering efforts, and construction oversight to ensure design intent is met.

  • Support continuous improvement of data center design templates and standards.

  • This role requires 50-75% travel.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering design, with at least 2 years in mission-critical/data center projects.

  • Proficiency with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or equivalent).

  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure systems including power distribution, cooling, and space planning.

  • Knowledge of applicable standards such as NEC, ASHRAE, Uptime Tier, and local building codes.

  • Excellent technical communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

We’re looking for resilient, adaptable people to join our team—folks who enjoy collaborating and tackling tough challenges. We’re all about offering real opportunities for growth, letting you dive into complex problems and make a meaningful impact through creative solutions. If you're a driven contributor, we encourage you to explore opportunities to make an impact at TensorWave. Join us as we redefine the possibilities of intelligent computing.
