Position Summary

The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences at Campbell University is seeking a qualified individual  to serve as an adjunct faculty instructor for CLNR 568: Project Management in the Department of Pharmaceutical & Clinical Sciences. CLNR 568 is an online 8-week course and component of the Master of Science in Clinical Research. This course will introduce the concepts of professional project management including roles, responsibilities, contract and project planning documents utilized in conducting clinical research projects. The full life cycle of a project will be studied including project launch, conduct and closeout. The focus will be on the project manager's role in developing and maintaining the timeline, budget, and quality of a project. Emphasis will be placed on managing projects in compliance with ICH GCP requirements for subject welfare and quality risk management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage course materials from learning objectives and selected textbooks provided by the Course Coordinator.

  • Execute tests, assignments and/or online discussion exercises that permit measurement of performance relative to the course learning objectives.

  • Teach the assigned class in accordance with the course learning objectives using the selected Learning Management System (Blackboard).

  • Communicate and respond to students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner.

  • Complete Powell for Teaching prior to teaching the course.

  • Evaluate and assess student performance.

  • Provide student grades promptly as instructed per Departmental standards.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with notice.

Education/Experience

  • A terminal degree in a related field is required.

  • Subject matter experience required.

  • Experience in teaching adult students, specifically in higher education, desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with University, College, and Departmental faculty, staff, and students

    • Maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail.

    • Upon hire, broad knowledge of Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to; Title IX and FERPA guidelines.

    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

    • Familiarity with Blackboard preferred.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms

    • Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.

    • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines

    • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment

    • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours.
