Backend Engineer (Python) - VacancyGlobal

SALARY/PAY RANGE: $140k – 220k base per year + Equity (Flexible depending on seniority)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Our client is an early stage startup based out of the Bay Area, and is solving the biggest pain point in the cyber security industry today, alert fatigue, all while taking a very novel and revolutionary approach to this daunting problem. The company was founded by three security veterans who held key positions at companies like Palo Alto Networks, Goldman Sachs and Meta (Facebook).

We are seeking Sr. Engineers with experience building built complete scalable products using Python, true Python developers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• As a Backend Developer, you will break monoliths into microservices. Build new microservices at a very large scale. Innovate production-level solutions to advanced performance issues.
• You will design big cloud systems by cross-collaborating with other SCRUM teams, Architects, Product Managers, Program Managers, UX designers, and Customer Sales - to help drive projects, features, and escalations for our customers.
• You will leverage your distributed cloud systems and high availability expertise to create high-volume data pipelining for policy scanning on public cloud ingested resources.
• Design and implement an architecture that scales while maintaining quality when facing environments with thousands of entities.
• Learn and utilize the latest technologies in the market - cloud infrastructure, serverless, containers orchestration, graph and more.
• Enable complex relational queries and value rendering on resources scanned by managing a graph representation of resources and their relationships.
• Generate insights for the user based on their data to better their overall security posture using machine learning, Open source, Graph, Drift Detection

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Computer Science or equivalent education / experience
• 6+ Years of experience building scalable cloud-based products (preferably AWS)
• Extensive experience using Python and/or Golang
• Architecture Skills - Scalability and Extensibility
• DB knowledge (SQL, No SQL): MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB
• Backend framework (Django/Flask/FastAPI)
• Live production systems with high scale
• IaC (Infrastructure as Code) - Terraform, Cloud Formation, etc. - advantage
• Independent, autodidact with excellent problem solving and passion to learn cutting edge technologies
