Psychometrician

Worldwide Salaried Open

Do you have a passion for developing quality assessments as well as experience in client engagements like job analysis, standard setting, or item workshops?  Looking for a fully remote position that provides great flexibility and culture?  Read on.

Summary of Position

Assessment Systems provides contracted services to organizations that seek to improve their assessment process and align with best practices, but do not have in-house psychometricians.  The situations vary widely: nonprofit certification boards, language assessments, K-12 companies, and governments (e.g., Ministry of Education outside the USA).  We are looking for a Psychometrician to work on clients such as these.  Key skills include quantitative analysis (CTT/IRT/equating), test design, job analysis, standard setting, and test development.  Additional skills in program management are also required.

You would do well in our company if you are an energetic self-starter with good decision-making, communications, and time management skills.

Job Duties

  • Meeting with clients to understand needs and recommend solutions
  • Pilot planning
  • Test design & job analysis
  • Management of assessment development, such as item writing workshops
  • Classical Test Theory analysis
  • Item Response Theory analysis
  • Form assembly and publishing
  • Standard setting (usually modified-Angoff)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (preferably PhD) in psychometrics, industrial-organizational psychology, or relevant field
  • At least two years of experience in test development; you MUST have run job analysis, Angoff, or similar studies
  • Experience in quantitative analysis, such as classical test theory, and explaining it to SMEs
  • Must be tech-savvy: proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Google suite, able to learn new software quickly

Company Background

Assessment Systems (assess.com) is a leading provider of high-end web-based assessment platforms built upon sophisticated psychometrics, provided in concert with sound test development and consulting services.  Our clients are testing organizations across a range of industries, including Certification/Licensure, Education, and Workforce/Pre-Employment.  The company dates back to 1979, but has recently been reinvented around a new set of products, giving the best of both worlds: an established name in the industry but the excitement of a tech start-up.  We are now seeing explosive growth and are hence seeking top talent to add to our team.

Working Here

Assessment Systems offers competitive compensation and benefits. As an employee you will have access to cutting edge technologies in a thriving industry while working in a fun, professional, and positive environment. You will have excellent opportunities to excel and to be rewarded for that effort. To join our successful team, please fill out the application here.  Assessment Systems is an equal opportunity employer and does perform e-verify and background checks. This position is fully remote, primarily in US daytime hours but with some flexibility.  We anticipate it to be full-time, but welcome part-time applicants if you have other commitments.  It reports to our VP of Psychometrics.  Anticipated salary is $90-120k per year.
