Job title: Online Instructor - Biology Company: State of Louisiana Job description: Supplemental Information Online Instructor - Biology Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Online Instructor - Biology is located in the Division of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This is a part-time position, and is open for recruitment. Qualifications Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in biology or a biology related discipline or a master's degree or higher in medical or health related discipline (i.e. M.D., D.V.M., D.D.S.), or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in a biological or life science area. Acceptable disciplines and coursework include but are not limited to: agricultural sciences (i.e. agronomy), anatomy, biochemistry, biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, biology/science education (maximum of 6 graduate semester hours can be applied to the 18 graduate semester hours required), biomedical sciences, biosciences, biotechnology, botany, cancer biology, cell biology, conservation-wildlife/plant/animal, exercise science, exercise physiology, evolutionary biology, embryology, entomology, environmental science, environmental biology, ecology, genetics, immunology, limnology, mammology, marine sciences, marine biology, medical sciences, microbiology - soil/medical/veterinary, molecular biology, mycology, physiology, neurobiology, neuroscience, nutritional sciences, ornithology, pathology, pathophysiology, parasitology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, physical therapy, physiology, plant and animal sciences, public health epidemiology/infectious disease/toxicology, veterinary sciences, virology, zoology. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in biology or a biology related discipline or a master's degree or higher in a medical or health related discipline (i.e. M.D., D.V.M., D.D.S.), or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in a biological or life science area. Previous Online Teaching experience. Job Concepts Adjunct Faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned. Adjunct Faculty may teach in the evening, weekends, online and dual enrollment courses as needed. Adjunct Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Adjunct Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching discipline Adjunct faculty report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within their respective departments and divisions.
