Senior Developer / Technical Support Engineer (US-Based) – Maintain & Improve Existing SaaS Platform - Contract to Hire

Overview

We are launching a live SaaS platform (StoreMyLife.com) and are transitioning away from our current developer. The system is already built and functioning. We are not looking for someone who wants to rebuild everything from scratch. We need a reliable, experienced developer who can:

  • Learn the existing codebase
  • Maintain and stabilize the platform
  • Troubleshoot issues when something isn’t working
  • Implement updates, improvements, and new features over time

This role is not end-user tech support. Our call center handles basic questions. You will only be contacted by our internal team when something requires higher-level technical attention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Get up to speed on an existing SaaS codebase
  • Diagnose and fix bugs or outages
  • Make requested changes, enhancements, and upgrades
  • Maintain system stability, uptime, and security
  • Recommend practical improvements without proposing unnecessary rebuilds
  • Document key technical processes as you learn the system

Availability Requirements

  • Must be available 7 days per week for urgent issues
  • For urgent system problems, must respond within 60 minutes of being contacted
  • Most work will be scheduled; emergencies are occasional but must be handled promptly
  • This is an ongoing relationship, not a one-time project

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior-level developer comfortable inheriting existing systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Experience supporting live SaaS applications
  • Able to work independently without constant direction
  • Practical mindset — fix and improve what exists rather than proposing unnecessary rewrites
  • Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders

Location Requirement: United States only

Nice to Have

  • Experience with secure document or data-sensitive platforms
  • Experience taking over projects from prior developers
  • DevOps, uptime monitoring, and incident response experience
  • Ability to recommend sensible, staged improvements

Engagement

  • Ongoing support and development relationship
  • Mix of maintenance, troubleshooting, and feature work
  • Looking for someone dependable who can grow with the platform long-term
