Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Agricultural Economist to join their strategy and market intelligence team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in the US. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth market analysis, forecasting agricultural commodity prices, and evaluating economic trends impacting the agriculture sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of economic principles applied to agriculture, excellent analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable market insights. Your research will guide strategic decision-making for our clients in the agricultural industry. Responsibilities: Analyze global and regional agricultural markets, including supply, demand, trade, and policy impacts. Develop and maintain econometric models for forecasting commodity prices, crop yields, and livestock production. Evaluate the economic implications of various factors, such as weather events, geopolitical situations, and technological advancements. Conduct research on market trends, consumer behavior, and emerging opportunities in the agricultural sector. Prepare detailed market reports, briefs, and presentations for internal teams and external clients. Monitor and interpret agricultural policy changes and their potential economic effects. Collaborate with other analysts, economists, and industry experts to gather information and refine analyses. Utilize statistical software and databases to perform quantitative analysis and data visualization. Stay informed about economic theories and methodologies relevant to agricultural markets. Provide economic insights and recommendations to support business strategy and investment decisions. Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis, with a specialization in the agricultural sector. Strong understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., Stata, EViews, R, SAS) and data analysis tools. Experience with agricultural commodity markets and price forecasting methodologies. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex economic information clearly. Ability to work independently, manage research projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting. Familiarity with agricultural policy and international trade is a plus. Strong research capabilities and attention to detail.
