Role Summary

As a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer you will join a small, high‑impact team responsible for creating robust, scalable data platforms that serve millions of concurrent users. You will collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into reliable, production‑grade services. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed data services that meet sub‑millisecond latency targets for high‑throughput workloads.

• Develop, test, and deploy production‑grade pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Druid, Presto/Trino, and Iceberg.

• Partner with cross‑functional teams—including product, analytics, and security—to define data contracts, SLAs, and reliability goals.
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost‑optimization initiatives for cloud‑native data workloads.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response, providing rapid root‑cause analysis and long‑term remediation.

Essential Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience building large‑scale distributed systems or data platforms.
• Proficiency in Java or another statically typed language (e.g., Scala, Go, C++).
• Solid understanding of distributed computing concepts such as consensus, replication, and fault tolerance.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated ability to design APIs and services that are both performant and maintainable.
