About The Role What if your civil engineering expertise could directly influence how AI systems mentor the next generation of infrastructure professionals? We're looking for experienced Civil Engineers in the New York City metro area to evaluate and improve AI-generated career guidance — ensuring it reflects the realities of working in one of the world's most demanding built environments. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background required — just deep professional knowledge and strong communication skills.

What You'll Do

  • Review career-related questions submitted by engineering professionals at different career stages
  • Write high-quality "golden answers" reflecting expert-level civil engineering career guidance
  • Develop objective evaluation rubrics to assess the quality of AI-generated career advice
  • Identify inaccurate, unrealistic, or incomplete recommendations produced by AI systems
  • Apply your real-world project and industry knowledge to improve AI career coaching capabilities
  • Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced Civil Engineer with substantial professional experience
  • Deep understanding of engineering career progression, project delivery, and industry standards in complex urban environments
  • Background in structural, transportation, water resources, geotechnical, or construction management projects
  • Strong written communication skills — able to translate complex guidance into clear, actionable advice
  • Reliable and self-motivated when working independently
  • No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

  • PE (Professional Engineer) license — New York registration a plus
  • Experience on major transit, infrastructure, or real estate development projects in the NYC metro
  • Project management credentials or experience leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience mentoring engineers-in-training or early-career professionals
  • Familiarity with NYCDOT, MTA, Port Authority, or similar agency project environments
