Position Overview

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated Remote Data Analyst to become the information champion for our Semi program. In this role, you will translate complex vehicle data streams into clear, concise reports and visualizations that drive strategic decisions across multiple internal teams. You will work closely with engineering, product development, and business intelligence groups to design data pipelines, ensure data integrity, and deliver insights that enhance vehicle performance, reduce operational costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling, succinct, and actionable reports and visualizations that communicate findings to stakeholders, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Support the design of data collection requests to extract and analyze information from semi‑truck sensors for model validation, component testing, and service diagnostics.
  • Automate the generation of fleet performance and health dashboards, enabling real‑time monitoring of vehicle status.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to design robust data pipelines, enforce data quality standards, and maintain data lineage documentation.
  • Write clean, well‑documented, and reusable code that can be easily maintained and extended by other analysts and engineers.
  • Provide data‑driven insights to the business development team and contribute to the creation of customer‑facing materials, such as case studies and performance briefs.
  • Analyze time‑series data from vehicle logs, including CAN bus messages, to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings to translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure alignment on data‑related initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with demonstrated experience building data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) workflows.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast‑changing data environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Familiarity with time‑series data formats (e.g., CAN, OBD‑II) and an interest in vehicle telemetry analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Self‑starter attitude, comfortable working independently while also thriving in collaborative, remote team settings.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.
  • Prior exposure to automotive or heavy‑vehicle data ecosystems, especially electric powertrain telemetry.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver insights from large, complex datasets, turning raw numbers into strategic recommendations.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Data Storytelling: Ability to craft narratives that make data meaningful and actionable for diverse audiences.
  • Technical Rigor: Commitment to writing maintainable, well‑tested code and adhering to best practices in data engineering.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, with a focus on building relationships across engineering, product, and business units.
  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating ambiguous requirements and rapidly evolving project scopes.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to data validation, ensuring accuracy and reliability of insights.
