About the Role

The Decision Support Analyst is a cross-functional position that partners with key stakeholders across Sales, Field Operations, Revenue Growth Management (PGM), Finance, Enterprise Planning, and Marketing. You will provide high-level analytical support and modeling for a wide range of business activities, including but not limited to:

  • Customer trade spend and investment analysis
  • Commercial deal evaluation and pricing strategy
  • Supply chain modeling and operational planning
  • Marketing initiative ROI analysis
  • Working capital optimization
  • Contract forecasting processes
  • Activity-based costing analysis
  • Annual strategic planning support

Working as a part-time remote analyst at arenaflex, you will operate with the autonomy to drive your own analyses while collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional partners to ensure business objectives are met efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst on the Decision Support team at arenaflex, your day-to-day work will involve a balance of strategic analysis, modeling, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive pre- and post-analysis of customer programs, strategic initiatives, new product launches, operational changes, and marketing investments with the goal of helping the business pursue the next best decision.
  • Analyzing the performance of various pilot programs while adhering to a structured experimentation framework such as A/B testing, ensuring statistically sound conclusions.
  • Maintaining and updating critical business tools, including Business Process Management (BPM) platforms and Route Planning models, based on evolving business needs.
  • Proactively identifying errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in reporting and processes, and developing effective solutions to address them.
  • Searching for trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to surface opportunities or risks the business may have overlooked.
  • Supporting the design and development of arenaflex proprietary tools that improve financial performance by optimizing levers across the value chain.
  • Modeling complex business scenarios using known data sets and translating business requirements into clear analytical outputs.
  • Delivering ad-hoc analyses and reports on demand, including well-crafted executive summaries for senior leadership consumption.
  • Performing any other related and assigned duties as needed to support the broader Decision Support and analytics function.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following foundational requirements:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a closely related quantitative field.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, Finance, or Operations, with a strong emphasis on analysis, modeling, or forecasting.
  • Industry Background: Management Consulting or Engineering experience is highly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and the ability to build robust financial and operational models from scratch.
  • Data Literacy: Solid data literacy skills with the ability to interpret, manipulate, and derive insights from large, complex data sets.
  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
  • MS Office Suite: Proficient in other Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Access, Word, and Visio.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Financial Acumen: Working understanding of Profit and Loss Statements and the key drivers of business performance.
