Worldwide Salaried Open

Welcome to arenaflex – Where Data Powers the Future of Intelligent Systems

At arenaflex, we are on a mission to shape the next generation of artificial intelligence by turning raw data into actionable insight. As a leader in the AI research and product space, our work touches millions of users worldwide, fuels groundbreaking research, and drives business decisions that matter. If you are passionate about data, love solving complex engineering challenges, and want to see your work directly influence cutting‑edge AI models, you have found the right place.

Why This Role Matters

Our Data Engineer position is the backbone of the data ecosystem that powers arenaflex’s flagship conversational AI products. You will design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver high‑quality data to downstream analytics, model training, and product teams. Your contributions will enable faster experimentation, more reliable model releases, and ultimately a better experience for our users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end‑to‑end data pipelines that reliably capture user interaction events, product usage metrics, and other critical signals into our centralized data lake.
  • Develop and maintain curated datasets aligned with key product metrics such as user growth, engagement, and revenue, ensuring they are production‑ready for analytics and model training.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineering, data science, product, marketing, finance, and research teams to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Build resilient, fault‑tolerant ingestion frameworks using modern streaming and batch technologies, guaranteeing data freshness and consistency.
  • Participate in data modeling and schema design, creating logical and physical data models that support both analytical queries and machine‑learning workloads.
  • Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance by adhering to industry standards, internal policies, and privacy regulations.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize pipeline performance, reducing latency and cost while maintaining high reliability.
  • Document architecture, processes, and best practices to foster knowledge sharing across the organization.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Hands‑on experience with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Apache Flink) and storage systems (e.g., HDFS, Amazon S3).
  • Familiarity with ETL orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
  • Strong understanding of SQL and the ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building data pipelines for machine‑learning workloads, especially for large language models.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and related services such as Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of data governance, privacy (GDPR, CCPA), and security best practices.
  • Previous work in a fast‑growing AI or SaaS company, preferably in a remote‑first setting.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical mindset: Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into concrete data solutions.
  • Problem‑solving: Proactive identification of bottlenecks and creative design of scalable fixes.
  • Communication: Clear articulation of technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills, comfortable partnering with scientists, product managers, and executives.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a rapidly evolving environment where priorities shift and new technologies emerge.
  • Attention to detail: Commitment to data quality, consistency, and reproducibility.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities
