Remote Automotive Diagnostic Technician - Advanced Systems

Worldwide Salaried Open

Our client is a leader in automotive innovation and is seeking a highly skilled Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join their remote team. This unique opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex vehicle systems without the need for a physical shop presence. You will work with cutting-edge diagnostic tools and software, providing remote support and analysis for a wide range of automotive issues. The role involves interpreting diagnostic data, communicating findings clearly to service advisors or customers, and recommending appropriate repair solutions. A deep understanding of modern vehicle electronics, engine management systems, hybrid/electric powertrains, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) is essential. You will be instrumental in identifying root causes of vehicle malfunctions, ensuring vehicle safety and performance. This position requires exceptional problem-solving skills, a meticulous approach to diagnostics, and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting. Strong communication skills are vital for effectively relaying technical information to non-technical audiences. We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated technician who stays current with automotive technology advancements. If you are passionate about cars and thrive on solving intricate technical challenges from the comfort of your home office, this role is perfect for you.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform remote diagnostics on complex automotive issues using advanced software and tools. Analyze vehicle data logs and error codes to identify underlying problems. Provide clear and concise technical assessments and repair recommendations. Troubleshoot issues related to engine performance, electrical systems, transmission, braking systems, and ADAS. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive technologies, including electric and hybrid vehicles. Collaborate with field technicians or service advisors to facilitate repairs. Document diagnostic findings and repair histories accurately. Stay current with manufacturer technical bulletins and service information. Offer remote support and guidance to resolve vehicle issues efficiently. Contribute to the development of remote diagnostic protocols and best practices.
  • Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Automotive Technician, with a specialization in diagnostics. ASE certifications highly preferred (e.g., G1, A6, A8, L3). Extensive knowledge of vehicle electronic systems, engine management, CAN bus communication, and diagnostic software. Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle systems is a significant advantage. Proficiency in using diagnostic scan tools and interpreting data streams. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Automotive Technology is a plus. Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
