About the Role
As a Remote College Technology Intern at arenaflex, you will be embedded within one of our dynamic Software Engineering IT teams. Your assignment will be determined by aligning your skills, academic background, and career interests with the needs of our portfolio teams. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside senior engineers, architects, and product leaders on projects that span the full software development lifecycle.
Potential Team Assignments Include:
- Software Implementation and Reliability Engineering – Building robust, scalable systems that keep arenaflex running 24/7.
- Operations Control Center (OCC), Network Planning & Recovery Technology – Supporting catering rerouting, crew mobility, and third-party flight operations.
- Omnichannel Technology – Innovating across reservations systems, customer experience platforms, enterprise mobility, and the digital cabin.
- Procurement, Servicing, AI and Automation – Driving intelligent automation across business processes.
- Global Sales, Loyalty Programs, and Engineering Services – Building tools that power global revenue and customer engagement.
- Airport Customer Service, Cargo, Baggage Operations, and Agile Delivery – Enhancing the ground experience for travelers worldwide.
- Technical Operations IT, Data Management Systems, and Digital Flight Planning – Supporting the technology behind safe and efficient flights.
- Corporate Technology – Enabling internal teams with modern tools and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that solve real business challenges.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups using Agile methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of APIs, mobile applications, web platforms, messaging systems, and data pipelines.
- Support reliability engineering efforts by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
- Research and prototype emerging technologies including cloud platforms, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
- Document technical specifications, workflows, and best practices to support team knowledge sharing.
- Engage with mentors and senior engineers to continuously improve technical and professional skills.
- Deliver presentations and demos to stakeholders showcasing project outcomes and learnings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to embrace diversity of thought, culture, and background while consistently prioritizing safety and security.
- Passion for solving complex problems and a willingness to invest the time required to overcome obstacles.
- Basic awareness of cloud technologies, software development lifecycles, and/or computer hardware components.

Compensation and Part-Time Flexibility
This is a part-time remote position with a competitive hourly rate of $31 per hour. Hours are flexible and designed to accommodate your academic schedule, typically ranging between 20–29 hours per week.
