Position Summary

The Airport Customer Service Agent is responsible for providing comprehensive customer service to all passengers utilizing arenaflex's scheduled or charter services. This position requires agents to be attentive to each customer's unique needs, professionally and politely handle inquiries with efficiency, and complete all required transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, remain calm under pressure, and exhibit a genuine desire to help every passenger have a smooth and enjoyable travel experience.

Key Responsibilities

As an Airport Customer Service Agent at arenaflex, you will be entrusted with a variety of important duties that directly impact passenger satisfaction and operational efficiency. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ticketing and Check-In Operations: Process airline tickets accurately, verify passenger identification, and ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for checking in passengers, issuing boarding passes, and assigning seats according to passenger preferences and operational needs.
  • Baggage Handling: Monitor carry-on baggage to ensure compliance with size and quantity regulations. Tag and process checked baggage, ensuring proper handling throughout the journey. You will also be responsible for tracking baggage, handling delayed or misplaced bags, and coordinating with the baggage services team to locate missing items.
  • Passenger Information and Guidance: Provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding arrival and departure times, boarding procedures, carry-on regulations, and seat assignments. Answer questions professionally and provide clear directions throughout the airport terminal.
  • Boarding Procedures: Manage the boarding process efficiently, ensuring proper verification of passengers and their documents. Handle denied boarding situations professionally, soliciting volunteers when necessary and re-accommodating affected customers appropriately.
  • Customer Voucher Administration: When operational circumstances require, issue hotel, meal, and taxi vouchers to affected customers in accordance with company policies and federal regulations. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Enforce all safety and security measures in accordance with FAA regulations, arenaflex policies, and airport-specific requirements. Monitor sensitive areas and report any security concerns immediately to appropriate personnel.
  • Special Assistance: Assist customers with special needs, including unaccompanied minors, elderly passengers, and individuals requiring mobility assistance. Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure seamless service for all passengers with unique requirements.
  • Baggage Claim Operations: Meet arriving flights at the baggage carousel to ensure proper handling of bags. Monitor the carousel for unclaimed baggage and store items appropriately in the Baggage Service Office until claimed or transferred to System Baggage Services.
  • Delayed Baggage Management: Handle delayed baggage issues with precision and compassion. Complete all required written reports, follow up with affected customers until the bag is located, or transfer files to System Baggage Services for further action. Provide consequential expenses to customers when applicable due to delayed baggage.
  • Lost and Found Services: Assist with locating lost items reported by passengers. Document all reports accurately and coordinate with the appropriate departments to track and return lost items to their owners.
  • Policy Communication: Inform customers of arenaflex policies and procedures regarding lost, damaged, or replacement baggage, as well as pilferage claims. Ensure customers understand their rights and the claims process.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate various types of tools and equipment, including hand trucks, carts, ramps, and tugs, to facilitate passenger and baggage movement throughout the airport terminal.
  • Ad Hoc Assignments: Complete any additional tasks or projects as requested by the Lead or Supervisor, adapting to the ever-changing demands of the airport environment.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Complete all required reports accurately and submit them in a timely manner. Maintain detailed records of all transactions, incidents, and customer interactions.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Proof of eligibility to work in the US will be required upon offer of employment.
  • Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive Criminal Background Check as part of the hiring process.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of previous customer service experience is required. Experience in the aviation, hospitality, or retail industries is highly preferred.
  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of hire.

  • Physical Capability: Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and physically demanding environments. The role may require standing for extended periods, walking throughout the terminal, and occasionally lifting items up to 50 pounds.
  • Training Commitment: Must be willing to attend and complete all required training programs, including both practical and written curriculum components.
