  • Collaborate on technology strategy: Work with senior leadership to define the roadmap for data platform evolution, recommending new technologies and architectural patterns.
  • Develop production‑grade code: Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, adhering to coding standards and automated testing frameworks.
  • Optimize data processing: Apply performance tuning techniques, monitor system health, and troubleshoot bottlenecks to keep data pipelines running efficiently at scale.
  • Mentor and lead peers: Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the data engineering team.
  • Ensure data quality and security: Implement validation checks, data lineage tracking, and security controls to protect sensitive information and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate across functions: Translate technical concepts into business value, presenting findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of full‑time professional software development experience, with a focus on data engineering or data platform development.
  • Programming proficiency: Strong command of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) and familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Data platform expertise: Hands‑on experience designing and building data pipelines, data warehouses, or data lakes using technologies like Apache Spark, Kafka, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, or similar.
  • Analytical mindset: Ability to analyze source systems, define data models, and document design specifications with precision.
  • Quality focus: Demonstrated commitment to delivering high‑quality, reliable solutions through automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
  • Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree: Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline or related field.
  • Full lifecycle experience: Experience covering the entire software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Cloud expertise: Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated data services.
  • Big data technologies: Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Flink) and streaming platforms.
  • Leadership exposure: Prior experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical teams.
  • Domain knowledge: Understanding of e‑commerce, retail, or digital media data domains is a plus.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Problem‑solving: Ability to break down complex problems, devise elegant solutions, and iterate quickly.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player who thrives in cross‑functional environments and values diverse perspectives.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment and learning new technologies on the fly.
