Senior Python Engineer - Data Platform (Remote)We're partnering with a highly regarded, technology-driven investment firm that builds innovative, research-backed financial products. Their engineering team is focused on developing scalable, high-performance systems that power critical investment decisions across research, trading, and portfolio management.They're looking for a Senior Python Engineer to join their Data Distribution team, where you'll play a key role in building and optimizing a modern enterprise data platform. Location: Fully remote (candidates must be based in North Carolina, Texas, or California) The RoleAs a Senior Python Engineer, you'll be working on a central investment data warehouse that supports core business functions including research, trading, analytics, and portfolio management.This is a hands-on role where you'll:Design and build scalable data platforms and servicesDevelop and optimize data pipelines end-to-end (ingestion → validation → delivery)Work closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutionsBuild high-performance APIs and data transfer systemsContribute to architecture decisions and modern engineering best practicesSupport production systems and ensure reliability, availability, and performance What You'll Be DoingBuild and deliver data-driven applications and servicesDevelop ETL pipelines and improve data architectureDesign and implement RESTful APIsEnsure data quality, consistency, and performanceOptimize systems for speed, scalability, and reliabilityContribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing, and documentationParticipate in code reviews and system design discussionsTroubleshoot and support live production environments What They're Looking For5+ years of Python experience (open-source ecosystem preferred)Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasetsExperience building APIs and distributed systemsSolid understanding of data engineering concepts and pipelinesExperience building high-performance, scalable applicationsStrong grasp of software design principles (SOLID, DDD, etc.)Experience writing well-tested, maintainable codeUnderstanding of security best practicesComfortable working in Agile/fast-paced environments What Makes This Role CompellingFully remote role with flexibility (within NC, TX, or CA)High-impact work supporting core investment systemsOpportunity to build data platforms from the ground upCollaborative, intellectually curious engineering cultureStrong focus on modern technologies and best practicesReal ownership and visibility across the business Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
