As a Remote Customer Advocate Phone Specialist, you will be the trusted voice that guides members through their health insurance journey. This position is fully remote, but you must reside in Arizona and work within state boundaries, ensuring you stay connected to the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide inbound phone, email, and chat support to arenaflex members, addressing inquiries related to contracts, benefits, coverage changes, eligibility, claims, provider networks, and arenaflex programs.
  • Identify, research, process, and resolve member issues with accuracy and empathy, documenting each interaction in arenaflex’s CRM and case‑management systems.
  • Maintain a high volume of daily contacts while meeting quality, quantity, and timeliness standards set by the department.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including underwriting, claims, provider relations, and compliance—to gather information and ensure swift resolution of complex queries.
  • Interpret and translate arenaflex policies, procedures, and program guidelines into clear, understandable language for members.
  • Continuously update knowledge of arenaflex products, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to provide accurate information.
  • Document all interactions meticulously, ensuring data integrity across multiple system applications.
  • Adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards, safeguarding member information in accordance with HIPAA and arenaflex’s internal policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions, coaching, and performance reviews to enhance skill sets and career growth.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a health‑insurance, claims examination, call‑center, medical office, or related healthcare environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in health administration or related fields is a plus.
  • Intermediate proficiency with PC applications (Microsoft Office, web browsers, and CRM tools).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, practice active listening, and deliver high‑customer‑satisfaction outcomes.
  • Strong written communication skills for composing business correspondence and documenting case details.
  • Ability to interpret complex policies and translate them into simple, actionable guidance for members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to thrive in a team‑oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with health‑insurance enrollment platforms, claims adjudication systems, or provider network databases.
  • Certification such as Certified Customer Service Professional (CCSP) or a related credential.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and data‑security best practices.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding performance metrics in a high‑volume call‑center setting.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while handling diverse member needs.
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language spoken in Arizona is highly desirable.
