[Remote] Senior AI/Cloud Engineer | Senior AWS Serverless & Agentic Solutions Architect

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Pacer Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI/Cloud Engineer for a long-term, fully remote engagement. The role involves designing resilient, event-driven architectures on AWS, optimizing for performance and cost, while also championing the use of advanced coding tools and AI-native capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI-Native Capabilities: Build, deploy, and scale enterprise-grade AI infrastructure on AWS using Bedrock, optimizing for high performance, rigid prompt guardrails, and cost-effective inference
• Design Bursty Event-Driven Services: Engineering serverless backend microservices that leverage advanced messaging patterns, asynchronous decoupled communication, and strict idempotency controls
• Drive Agentic Tooling Innovation: Shape daily engineering practices by integrating, establishing patterns for, and configuring agentic coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, MCP servers), establishing clear frameworks for when to deploy autonomous agents
• Collaborate & Review Architecture: Partner closely with internal engineering teams to lead deep-dive architectural reviews, visualizing system failure points and translating complex requirements into robust technical diagrams
• Deliver Reusable Patterns: Author and construct modular Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or Terraform infrastructure templates and architectural patterns designed for cross-team adoption and standardization

Skills

• Agentic Coding Tools Proficiency: Hands-on production experience using next-generation tools like Claude Code, OpenCode, Cursor, or equivalent ecosystems; solid expertise in Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, context strategies, and agentic workflow design
• Advanced AWS Serverless Architecture: Deep production-grade engineering mastery over Lambda, DynamoDB (including single-table design, Global Secondary Index strategies, and DynamoDB Streams), and API Gateway
• Event-Driven Messaging & Orchestration: Proven success building scalable systems with SNS, SQS, EventBridge (leveraging fan-out patterns, Dead Letter Queues, and processing idempotency), and complex AWS Step Functions
• AWS Generative AI & Amazon Bedrock: Experience shipping production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Bedrock Agents, Knowledge Bases, and Guardrails; strong mastery of model routing, prompt caching, and inference cost optimization
• Distributed Systems Mastery: Expert understanding of eventual consistency, asynchronous retries/exponential backoff, choreography vs. orchestration patterns, and blast radius containment
• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) or Terraform
• Practical exposure to Amazon OpenSearch Service for vector database and hybrid search/retrieval implementations
• Comprehensive cloud observability experience utilizing Amazon CloudWatch, distributed tracing, and advanced dashboarding metrics
