[Remote] Fall 2026 Legal Intern, Reproductive Freedom Project
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The ACLU is seeking a Fall Legal Intern for the Reproductive Freedom Project at their National office in New York City. This internship offers law students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in litigation, policy advocacy, and communications campaigns, focusing on reproductive rights and justice.
Responsibilities
- Conducting legal research and analysis
- Aiding in drafting memoranda, motions, declarations, and legal pleadings
- Providing general assistance on active litigation, including cite-checking
- Supporting development of new litigation projects
- Additional responsibilities could include working on fact development, conducting background research, or tracking and analyzing bills
Skills
- Currently matriculated legal students
- Based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship
- Completed at least one year of law school before the internship commences
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Ability to conduct complex legal analysis
- Strong oral communications skills
- Ability to explain complicated legal issues
- Ability to balance multiple assignments
- Ability to communicate with colleagues
- Ability to accept and incorporate feedback
- Collaborative attitude
