Key Responsibilities

Analyze soil samples and interpret laboratory results to assess soil properties, fertility, and health. Develop data-driven soil management recommendations for clients, including nutrient application, tillage practices, and cover cropping strategies. Utilize GIS and remote sensing data to create soil maps and understand spatial variability across agricultural landscapes. Provide expert consultation to farmers, agronomists, and other agricultural professionals on soil-related issues. Research and stay abreast of the latest advancements in soil science, soil health, and sustainable agriculture practices. Contribute to the development of new soil management tools and technologies. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and educational materials for clients and internal teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate soil insights into broader agricultural management plans.

Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in soil science, with a focus on agricultural applications. Strong understanding of soil chemistry, physics, biology, and fertility. Proficiency with soil testing interpretation and fertilizer recommendations. Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and analyzing spatial data is essential. Familiarity with remote sensing data and its application in soil assessment is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly. Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
