JOB DESCRIPTION: SUMMARY OF POSITION With a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed chemical dependency counselor, case managers, and veteran outreach workers, the clinic offers high-quality, evidence-based, and personalized outpatient mental health treatment tailored to meet the specific needs of veterans, particularly those from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and their families. The Cohen Clinics at Centerstone hold a multi-state footprint and the Data Specialist will work across these sites/states. Under the general direction of the Data Director, the Data Specialist is responsible for managing designated administrative tasks that include the daily coordination of Electronic Health Record data entry, correction and reporting, help desk support, and data related staff training. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Attends and contributes to meetings and communications between internal and external partners for tasks related to policies and procedures for data quality, network reporting, new staff EHR training/orientation, and general EHR troubleshooting and functionality updates. Reviews and facilitates corrections to service orders, progress notes, measures, and other clinical documentation completed in error. Provides general helpdesk assistance to all clinics, specifically related to Electronic Health Record functionality issues and data error corrections. Provides data/documentation error correction portions of EHR training sessions for new and existing staff and works with clinic administration to schedule training sessions and improve training content for a comprehensive, valuable new hire EHR training and orientation. Fulfills other billing, documentation, and client records data specific tasks as assigned by Data Director. Presents a professional image, maintaining a calm, professional manner in all interactions with consumers and colleagues. Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong written and verbal communication skills, poise and professionalism to handle high volume and fast paced environment. Ability to work independently in remote setting. Typing, filing, and general office skills. PC literate with knowledge of MS software. Willingness to learn new functions. Prior experience within the military community and/or veteran administrative organizations. Strong consultative abilities, conflict-resolution skills, and leadership abilities. Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including diverse interest groups including advocacy groups and other governmental organizations. Intermediate level on MS Excel, Email and word processing programs. Ability to utilize Internet for resources. and procedures for data quality, network reporting, new staff EHR training/orientation, and general EHR troubleshooting and functionality updates. QUALIFICATIONS Veteran status, military spouse or other military family affiliation preferred. Education Level Associate’s degree from accredited college/university or equivalent experience required.
