Paralegal - Insurance Defense (Work From Home Opportunity)

Exciting opportunity available for a fully remote personal injury defense law firm that is growing in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Position Purpose: Provides support to attorneys by monitoring case status and completing required actions and assignments. Paralegals draft legal documents, perform legal and factual research, ensure that documents are timely filed with courts, review, analyze and summarize documents and information, including medical records, and communicate with clients, insurance claims professionals, court personnel, expert witnesses and opposing counsel and their support staff. Paralegals represent the Firm by supporting attorneys and providing outstanding customer service and accurate follow-through actions for all inquiries and referrals. Roles & Responsibilities: · Proactively monitors status of pending cases and communicates with attorneys as to case status and suggested actions to move cases forward to conclusion. · Drafts, reviews and edits legal documents, including but not limited to Pleadings, discovery demands and responses, discovery motions, Answers, Motions to extend Discovery End Date(s), Motions to Strike, Motions for Summary Judgment, correspondence, authorizations, subpoenas, etc. · Reviews and analyzes information provided by clients, client representatives, other parties and their counsel, and medical providers. · Inputs information regarding parties and case status. · Monitors and assists with maintenance of case calendar when necessary by scheduling matter events, coordinating with counsel, and generating status reports to keep attorneys updated with matter status. · Answers questions and supplies detailed information. · Assists attorneys with preparation for and during trials, arbitration proceedings, administrative hearings, etc., by preparing key document and issue binders, organizing, assembling, marking and maintaining documents for exhibits, scheduling witnesses for testimony and performing other, similar tasks. · Receives and processes a variety of requests for information, registrations, actions, forms, orders, notices, and/or other related information. · Follows through on client needs through coordination of services. · Assists with engagement and consultation with expert witnesses. · Performs a variety of clerical activities and other duties as required. Qualifications/Experience: · Associate’s degree in a related field (such as legal assisting, law enforcement, or human services) · Minimum of six (6) years of experience as a New Jersey and Pennsylvania Personal Injury Defense Paralegal. · Strong background in proactively managing discovery responses, demands and recognizing next steps without attorney oversight. · Strong background in analyzing and summarizing medical records required. · Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with clients, co-workers, and representatives of other agencies. · Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate over the phone. · Must be able to effectively proofread documents and provide an excellent work product. · Must be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent research, analytical and above average computer skills and knowledge. · Cross-training for other opportunities within the firm required. · Experience in any one or more of the following additional state courts is a plus: Florida, New York, and California. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year Benefits:
