[Remote] Project Manager (Project Position)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The UW School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a Project Manager for its Workday and Enterprise Solutions Team. This role involves providing advanced technical and strategic guidance for IT projects, managing vendor workflows, and ensuring successful project delivery in support of the Enterprise Document Management System and EAP Acceleration Program.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and facilitates communication for the integration of vendor workflow and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables for moderately complex, multi-unit projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align project goals with broader organizational priorities and requirements
  • Provides advanced technical and analytical guidance to project teams. Identifies and estimates tasks, applies established project management, process improvement, and budget and cost analysis methodologies to identify obstacles and drive project completion
  • Serves as a main point of contact for clients in the development and implementation of multi-unit, moderately complex projects
  • Works actively to foster a respectful, inclusive and safe team environment
  • Drafts and delivers project status communications and reports

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field required
  • Proven track record of leading successful multi-unit, complex projects, preferably in a higher education or public sector environment
  • Advanced proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid approaches
  • Expertise in risk management, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication
  • Experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Jira, or Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex stakeholder environments that include multiple business units, technical teams, and governance groups, often with evolving requirements, competing priorities, and shared decision-making responsibilities
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions
  • Experience facilitating discussions and driving alignment among diverse stakeholder groups, ranging from detailed technical teams to executive leadership, while navigating ambiguity and influencing outcomes when ownership and decision authority are not clearly defined
  • Ability to translate technical and operational details into clear, actionable updates and visualization aids for non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to balance strategic objectives with detailed project execution, translating complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations for stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or similar credentials is strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Warehouse and Enterprise Document Management
  • Experience working with or supporting initiatives related to Workday, Data Warehouse, or other ERP systems
