Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound calls to Medicare Advantage patients to schedule preventative care and health maintenance visits with primary care departments.
  • Engage with insurance companies to assist patients with insurance updates as needed.
  • Greet customers and provide necessary instructions or directions over the phone.
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments as directed.
  • Maintain an organized and clutter-free work area.
  • Prepare accurate documentation and records for patient care.
  • Meet or exceed performance measures established by the Practice Management Department.
  • Follow established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in a team-based environment and contribute to team success.
  • Maintain a supportive attendance record.
  • Deliver quality customer service consistent with Optum's High Performance Organization standards.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Adapt effectively to a continuously changing environment and occasional difficult situations.
  • Maintain professional communication, conduct, and dress at all times.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed as a Patient Care Coordinator, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in handling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Knowledge of healthcare practices and patient care coordination.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance.
